샤오짠 - Xiao Zhan - Chinese-Taiwanese restaurant in Apgujeong

Recently we were in the Apgujeong area, looking for something to eat and a friend suggested going to Xiao Zhan. It’s a restaurant owned by Super Junior’s Henry which serves Chinese-Taiwanese cuisine. Earlier reviews say that it was really crowded when it was first opened, some even had to wait in a line to come in, but when we went there it was quite empty.

Interestingly, it doesn’t feel like a place opened by a celebrity at all – it’s a cozy little place and not too overpriced. The food is quite good, though I am not very familiar with either Chinese or Taiwanese cuisine, so I can’t judge its’ authenticity, so I will just say I liked it.

We ordered orange chicken (15 000 won), braised pork on rice (7 500 won), and dumplings (4 500 won). Everything was good, though the chicken was a little bit too dry for my taste.

I really liked the overall vibe of the place, so if you are in the area, I definitely recommend checking it. They also have other locations in Eunjiro and Seocho.

샤오짠이라는 중국-대만 식당은 유명한 가수인 헨리가 소유한 식당입니다. 저는 샤오짠이 처음 문을 열었을 때 사람이 너무 많이 방문한다고 들었는데 제가 찾아간 날에 사람이 거의 없었습니다. 저는 서울시 압구정역 근처에 있는 식당에 가봤는데 지로와 서초에도 있습니다.

식당은 너무 아늑하고 비싸지도 않아서 연예인이 소유한 곳이 아니라는 분위기를 줍니다. 메뉴에는 다양한 맛있는 중국, 대만 음식이 있어서 누구나 자기 입에 맞는 음식을 찾을 수 있습니다. 제가 먹어본 음식은 양도 많고 아주 맛있었습니다.

저는 이 식당을 너무 좋아했으니까 나중에 다시 가서 먹고 싶습니다. 한번 꼭 가보세요!^^
