Gemstone cafe (송정젬스톤) in the Songjeong beach(송정해수욕장)

I think everyone know that Busan is famous for the beaches. Unfortunately people mostly know Gwangalli (광안리) and Haeundae (해운대) and have no idea or any interest in other beaches. And that is a huge mistake because there are plenty of other nice, cozy and pleasant beaches. One of that beaches is Songjeong (송정해수욕장) also famous as surfer’s beach. It is well known among surfers but not so much among usual people. The atmosphere on that beach is amazing. As soon as I arrived there, I forgot that I am in Korea and felt that I am on a Bali or Hawaii. People are dressed different there and smile much more than in other places. The cafes are opened right on the beach, tables and chairs are on the sand. You can sit here and have a glass of fresh juice or cold beer as well as breakfast in the morning or dinner while observing stunning sunset.

광안리와 해운대 해수욕장을 아는 사람 많은데 송정해수욕장에 대해 이번에는 저음 들었습니다. 도착하자마자 분위기가 한국이 아닌 것 같았습니다. 이 해수욕장에서 주로 surfing합니다.

There are also cafes on the hill with a great sea view. One of those cafes is Gemstone (송정젬스톤) where you can have a cup of coffee and fresh baked bread or cakes.

Café works from 10 am till 2 am every day. Prices in the café are average, for example I had a cup of americano for 5.500 won and lemon bread for 5.000 won.

커피숍이 매일 오전 10시부터 새벽 2시까지 영업합니다. 가격은 보통이고 라떼 5.500 원이고 레몬 빵 5.000 원 나왔습니다.

There are two floors in the café and on the second floor there is a terrace.

이 층에서 terrace이 있고 뷰는 아주 예쁩니다.

I was staying on the Haundae (해운대) which is close to the Songjeong (송정해수욕장) so I went to Songjeong (송정해수욕장) by bus. There are a lot of buses running between two beaches 39, 100-1, 40, 200, 38, 141, however you need to walk through the whole beach if you want to reach cafes on the hill, approximately 20 minutes.

해운대에서 송정해수욕장까지 버스를 타고 갔는데 송정젬스톤 커피숍까지 걸어가면 약 20분 더 걸립니다.

Surfing is the most adorable and attractive part of this beach. Unfortunately, when I was there the waves were too strong for surfing that’s why all lessons were canceled. Because safety in Korea is very important. However, despite the weather people from the whole country, with different backgrounds and ages, forget about boundaries and just enjoy the waves, sun, breeze, and the sea there.
