The Best Views in the City : Seoulism Cafe

One of the most popular cafes in the city, Seoulism offers visitors something most cafes don't: one heck of a view.

This sixth floor Songpa-gu coffee shop also offers cake, cocktails, a few food items including brunch and various non-coffee drinks. The drink menu is impressively diverse, and the cakes on offer include caramel (7800), hallabong black tea (7800), New York cheesecake (8800) and tiramisu (8000). The prices are high, but normal for this area. And when you see the line of people waiting outside, even before opening hours, you'll be grateful that you aren't paying more based on the high demand.

After waiting outside, having our temperatures checked, and scanning our QR codes, my friends and I were finally in. Every guest must order at least one drink at the door, and then you are free to find your seat and enjoy the cafe's beautiful interior or exterior. We ordered a variety of drinks including an Americano (7000), a flat white (7500) and a salted caramel cream latte (8500) plus a slice of caramel cake, and then made our way to the first level of the rooftop. After ordering we were told that the caramel cake was sold out, so we were given a slice of tiramisu for the same price. We settled in to our seats and turned to see the cafe's stunning view of Lotte World Tower. The day was perfect, with a clear blue sky and scattered clouds.

After a couple of hours of chatting and people watching, we decided we were ready to enjoy the cafe's piece de resistance: the second rooftop with its famous SEOUL sign. There was a short line, which is to be expected at such a famous photo spot. We waited our turn and then went wild posing and snapping pics. The rooftop is perfectly set up for photos, and we really made use of the time we had.

Seoulism is absolutely worth a visit, especially if the skies and clear and the view is unobstructed by fog or mist. Personally I'm hoping to return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the view of the sunset! Seoulism is open from Monday to Thursday plus Sunday from 13:00 to 23:00, and then on Fridays and Saturdays from 13:00 to 24:00. The address is as follows:
